One can agree that crew members are the most important "asset" of a vessel. Without the crew, the vessel would not be able to sail, be maintained, loaded or discharged. Like many industries, there is a demand for reduction in resources and crew members onboard vessels. We address this problem by developing better ways to utilize the skills and resources we already have onboard. Ulysses Systems and VesselMan are now working towards making a skill matrix where we are tracking and visualizing what skills our team already has within maintenance, dry-docking and technical projects. We see a massive potential in optimizing the team and fully use all resources when necessary. This feature will help crewing departments in shipping company/ship managements get a better way create awareness of the skills and experience of the crew. Ulysses Systems and VesselMan are experts in understanding maintenance. A big focus area is to ensure the maintenance schedules are adhered to, even if you don’t report the jobs in the sequence expected due to unscheduled events like breakdowns and repair periods like dry-docks. VesselMan is very excited about being part of this collaborative project with Ulysses Hellas S.A which is a project supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants 2014-2021, in the frame of the programme “Business Innovation Greece”. The project “Crew management system to improve manning based on skills, experience and business requirements” addresses manning problems in relation to vessels technical performance. This project will complement the planned maintenance integrations with technical projects that are already established between Ulysses and VesselMan. Giving the shipping companies best possible utilization of optimized manning, ship repair and maintenance and performance for the voyages. VesselMan is always looking for ways to integrate or partner with other systems in the industry to help our users utilize their day- to day work better. Integration is the key forward to everything involved in digitalization in the maritime industry. Want to learn more about VesselMan, please reach out to us at [email protected].
